Tiger Woods lawyers want OK to attack Rachel Uchitel for future NDA violations

Tiger Woods told his lawyers on Tuesday former mistress Rachel Uchitel in Manhattan court, targeting the $ 5 million nondisclosure agreement she signed with the great golfer.

Woods’ camp has acknowledged that there is nothing they can do about Uchitel’s alleged chatter in the past – but they can certainly try to silence her in the future.

Uchitel – a 46-year-old former nightclub hostess who dated Woods a decade ago while still married – revealed on Monday that in 2009 she signed the NDA, which was originally worth $ 8 million and was later amended to $ 5 million.

She claimed Woods’ attorneys threatened to sue her for speaking out about their case – a ruling one of the golfer’s attorneys easily confirmed to the judge during Tuesday’s telephone hearing for the bankruptcy case. ‘Uchitel.

But Woods’ attorneys admitted to federal bankruptcy judge in Manhattan that they had run into a problem.

Uchitel had already been granted a “discharge” in his Chapter 7 bankruptcy case in February, which essentially gave him a “fresh start” in debt and legal claims, his lawyer told The Post.

So while any alleged violation of the NDA cannot be prosecuted legally, Woods’ attorneys have asked the judge to reopen his bankruptcy case so the golfer can potentially get money if Uchitel violates the deal at the to come up. Lawyers for the golfer said they were unaware of her bankruptcy case when they initiated arbitration proceedings to enforce the NDA between her and their client.

One of Woods’ attorneys, Jerrold Bregman of the Holtz firm, argued before the judge on Tuesday that his side would only sue Uchitel for any possible future violations of the NDA.

Uchitel listened by phone to his lawyer, Maureen Bass, asking the judge to dismiss the petition, saying there was no “legal basis” for it.

Judge James Garrity Jr. has said he will rule at a hearing on Aug. 18.

“He says in the future he will come after me,” Uchitel told the Post of Woods after the hearing. “It doesn’t allow me to make a fresh start.

His lawyer added that Woods’ camp “does not let him die”, instead continuing their position of “we are going to hunt you until the end of time”.

Bregman did not respond to a request for comment from The Post after the hearing.
