In today’s edition, we’ll take a look at some of the major plans that WWE has for top SmackDown Superstars like Roman Reigns, Edge and more. So let’s take a look at the big news and rumors related to SmackDown without delay:
#5. Possible spoilers regarding SmackDown Edge vs Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank
Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against Edge at the upcoming MITB show. While Edge is undoubtedly one of the strongest contenders to win the Universal Championship, it looks like The Tribal Chief is set to stay.
WON’s Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE is already advertising Roman Reigns as Universal Champion for dates after his and Edge’s upcoming match. This makes it clear that Edge is likely to lose on the show:
“7/24 in Pittsburgh listing Reigns vs. Rey and Dominic Mysterio in a handicap match with the title at stake, which means Reigns has to win and keep the title up in a handicap match is stupid, because It just makes babyfaces look like they are losers to begin with.”
Rumors suggest that a feud between Edge and SmackDown Superstar Seth Rollins is on the way for SummerSlam. The appearance of Edge making fun of Seth Rollins on WWE’s The Bump proves that there is a potential for a match between the two.
