Tory MP and eating disorder group co-chair publicly shames nurse

But if the withdrawal was considered “light-hearted” – as the 34-year-old MP later claimed – it was almost immediately shut down by other users on the social media site.

“Do you know how damaging this tweet is to some people struggling with an eating disorder or who are genetically predisposed to having a bigger body than the media-imposed norm,” user Pete Roberts asked. “Absolutely shameful from an MP.”

Another kept it simple: “You are an MP,” wrote Nick Pettigrew. “Show only a piece of dignity.”

Mr Benton Was told lanxlive That: “[Mr Colldash is] A Labor Party counselor who frequently posts obnoxious and obnoxious comments on my social media pages.

“My response to him is light-hearted and similar to his original tweet.”

Mr Benton, who has previously violated parliamentary rules by not declaring interests, accepted nearly £8,000 worth of free hospitality for the Euro 2020 Games, Wimbledon and Royal Ascot last month.

The trough included an England vs Czech Republic ticket from Gamesys, an online casino and bingo company, worth £1,537.60; Royal Ascot hospitality £1,400 from the Betting and Gaming Council; Wimbledon ticket from Anten worth £1,400; And another England vs Denmark ticket from Anten that costs £3,457.

He has since defended himself by saying that he has registered all the gifts and that his support for a casino in Blackpool was prior to getting freebies.

The eating disorder charity, Beat, which helps run the parliamentary group, has declined to comment on the incident.
