Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Films has entered into a production deal with acclaimed film company A24, known for Moonlight, Lady Bird, Midsummer and more.
Like Variety reports, the first special project the two companies will be working on relates to Scott’s long-awaited next album, “Utopia,” which is due to arrive this year. On Instagram, the rapper shared an image from a “first draft” script with partially blackened “Utopia”, writing, “Life is a movie. This album too.
The announcement comes just over a week after Scott premiered a new song, “Escape Plan,” at Rolling Loud Miami. At the time, he also organized a fleet of drones to send a QR code into the sky, which led to a pre-check-in link for the runway. There is currently no confirmed release date for ‘Escape Plan’.
“Utopia” will follow up Scott’s 2018 studio album, “Astroworld,” which included collaborations with Drake, Frank Ocean and The Weeknd, among others. At its output, gave the album five stars, describing it as a “lush, complex and extraordinarily accomplished album that invites us mere mortals to contemplate his life behind the cord of velvet.”
This year Scott was also featured on Baby Keem’s track ‘Durag Activity’ and a remix of Erica Banks’ ‘Buss It’.
