Trevor Noah will return to host the Grammys next year.
This was reported by the Recording Academy Today (Dec. 15) and marks Noah’s third consecutive year as host. Another person who has hosted the Grammy Awards live in the past three decades is LL Cool J. The ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on February 5, 2023.
“One of my favorite things about the Grammys in general is that it’s one of the few places where you can experience artists in their rawest element performing their music live,” Noah said in an interview. Billboard. “Brandi Carlyle is playing a song live and you hear her voice and you hear her playing her instruments – there’s nothing like it. You have a deep appreciation for what these people do outside of music. “
He also discussed how hosting the Grammys exposed him to the work of artists he hadn’t previously explored. “I’m a fan 1000% and what I love about the Grammys is that I get to fan a new artist every time. I go in and then I meet this new artist and all of a sudden I’m like, “Who are the Black Cougars?” It introduces you to music that you might not have otherwise [exposed to]”.
Noah announced his departure in September Daily show after seven years as host. It aired its final episode last week. A full-time successor has yet to be announced – Daily show will return in the new year with a variety of guest hosts for now.
