Two 16-year-old boys from Christchurch and Bournemouth have been charged with murder.

The couple, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are due to appear at the Pool Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A 15-year-old girl from the Christchurch area has been released on bail after she was arrested on suspicion of helping a criminal, Dorset police said.

Detective Inspector Simon Huxter said: “Following a detailed and fast-track investigation, we have consulted with the Crown Prosecution Service, which has authorized the charges.

“Edward Reeve’s family has been renewed with this development and our thoughts remain with him during this truly terrible time.”

Police were dispersed after a welfare concern report to Edward’s home around 7.53pm on Wednesday evening.

The body of a 35-year-old man was found with serious injuries.

Edward’s mum Jane Newy, 64, paid tribute to her son who worked in local musicianship and customer service.

She said: “I don’t believe it. It doesn’t look real. It doesn’t seem fair. If you ask me, he didn’t deserve it.”

Jane recounts how her son moved to Christchurch ten years ago from Buckinghamshire but was suffering from substance abuse.

She revealed her fear of his death and claimed that he was living with a low-life.

Jane added: “I have long suspected something like this would happen.”

Dorset police said expert officers were supporting the victim’s family following the horror.

Police have continued to appeal for information.

Mr Haxter said: “I am very excited to reiterate my thanks to the public for following the appeals and information they provided to assist our inquiry.

“The investigation is ongoing so please contact us if you think you have information that can help.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 101 number 55220001688.
