Two firefighters were hospitalized Wednesday morning after falling to the floor while fighting a fire at a Manchester home.
Firefighters responded to the Campfield Road area at 1:45 p.m.
According to crews at the scene, minutes after the fire was extinguished, the floor inside the house went out of order and two firefighters collapsed.
Both firefighters were rushed to the hospital with an ambulance to assess their non-life-threatening injuries. Battalion Chief Craig Webb.
Firefighters were able to continue their efforts and eventually extinguished the rest of the fire.
The heat called for a second signal, and East Hartford firefighters were called in to help each other so crews could switch frequently, explains Chief Web.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
