Vanna White details her ‘brother and sister’ relationship with ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host Pat Sajak: ‘It’s great’


Vanna White has a special bond with her co-star Pat Sajak.

Since 1982, White and Pat Sajak have co-owned Wheel of Fortune. White recently said that he considers his co-star a “brother” and that the duo are a great “team.”

“He’s so funny. He really is. We see each other every couple of days. It’s great,” White told People magazine. “Then we don’t see each other, and then we go back to work. And he always makes me laugh.”

He continued, “I think when [series creator] Merv Griffin chose both of us, 40 and 41 years ago, he saw something between us – a brother/sister relationship.

“And I think it is. He saw that we got along, and we did. We’re like brother and sister.”

In September 2021, Sajak, 76, revealed that he and White were “closer to the end than the beginning” of hosting a game show. Saying goodbye to 65-year-old White is getting harder.

Meanwhile, Variety reports that both White and Sajak have renewed their contracts through at least the 2023-2024 TV series, so it’s unclear when the duo will leave.

“I don’t even want to think about it. I mean, we’re a team,” he shared with the publication. “It’s depressing. I don’t even want to think about it.”

According to White, it is difficult for him to imagine what “Wheel of Fortune” would look like without the host. “I just imagine we’re there. I can’t think beyond that,” he explained.

He said he wasn’t sure the game show would go on without him and Sajak.

“I can’t imagine. Everyone associates Wheel of Fortune with Pat and Vanna. We’re like Ken and Barbie, you know?” White said. , that would be weird.”

Looking back on his time on the show, White said he’s grateful for the past 40 years as host “Wheel of Fortune”.

“It’s unbelievable. I can’t believe it’s been 40 years. I’ve loved every minute of it to be honest,” she said.

White continued, “Who says they still love their job 40 years from now? Me! I really do. It’s a fun show. Everyone watches and enjoys it and it changes people’s lives and makes people happy does. So it’s a great job.”
