Videos on social media mock 16-year-old stab victim as Montreal police search for suspect

Montreal — Montreal police continue to investigate the city’s 25th homicide and the second fatal stab in two days — videos mocking the 16-year-old victim have surfaced on social networking sites.

Montreal police said around 8:45 p.m. The alternative school, called Program Mile End, is in the coronation primary of another school on Van Horn Avenue.

Police are on the lookout for three suspects, aged 16 to 18, as the family mourns the senseless killing.

After the boy’s death, videos appeared online on Snapchat and Instagram, mocking him and displaying violent images. In one video, a masked man appears to be holding a knife while addressing a victim, his nickname is Twizy.

In another video, a song is played in the background of a man holding a bottle of liquor while delivering an e-cigarette, including “fk your homie dead.”

Montreal police said Wednesday they know the videos exist but cannot say whether the men depicted in them were involved in the homicide. No one was arrested in the case.

‘Mother Does Not Have to Experience It’

Meanwhile, the mother of the victim is getting an outpouring of support on social media from a traumatized loved one for the murder of her son.

“No mother should feel this. I pray that God give you all the strength to overcome this dark time,” one person wrote on her Facebook page.

Another person said, “No one has to feel what your family is going through. Love and energy are being sent to you and your family at this pointless time.”

The stabbing began as a quarrel between a group of boys near the school and collapsed after going inside the school to get some help, police said.

This is the second deadliest daylight in 24 hours. Police say a 36-year-old man stabbed his former roommate, a 24-year-old woman, near the corner of Milton St. and Aylmer St. in the McGill ghetto around 4:30 Tuesday evening. The accused in that case has been arrested and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
