Watch Lucy Dacas perform a Tiny Desk (home) concert from her old high school

Lucy Dacas has a Tiny Desk (home) concert from her old high school in Richmond, Virginia.

The indie-rock artist and his band returned to their alma mater for a special edition of NPR’s long-running series.

Performing from Maggie Walker High School classes, Dacas shared a rendition of four songs from her latest album ‘Home Video’, which was released last month.

The setlist included “Brando”, “VBS”, “Going Going Gone” and “Thums”. The latter performance was the first time the Ducas performed the song on camera. “It can be hard to hear – it’s just a warning,” she told the audience beforehand. “If you don’t want to hear it, just stop this video!”

In a four-star review of Dacus’ third album, said: “‘Home Video’ Matador is full of artist’s distinctive subtle humor and gorgeously provocative poetry […] Dacus proves that looking back on your past can give you goosebumps, but there’s beauty and value in those faltering, gloomy days. “

Star will bring the record to the UK and Ireland stages next year. The tour will begin at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on 18 March and will continue with stops in Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester and Bristol. It will culminate with a gig at the Kentish Town Forum in London on 25 March.

Meanwhile, Dacas last month shared a cover of Snow Patrol’s 2006 single ‘Chasing Cars’, re-imagining the track with spectral synth and atmospherics.
