Taika Waititi has shared the first trailer for her upcoming reservation dog Series – see it below.
jojo rabbit The filmmaker serves as an executive producer on the new comedy show, which takes its name from Quentin Tarantino’s film and shows similarities to the plot. Waititi co-wrote the show with Native American filmmaker Sterlin Harjo.
The series “follows four native teenagers in rural Oklahoma who spend their days committing crime … and fighting it”.
Adds a summary: “reservation dog is a half-hour comedy that follows the adventures of four indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma who steal, rob, and save in order to travel to the exotic, mysterious and distant lands of California. “
Starring in the series – set to share its first episode on August 9 on FX – are D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai, Davery Jacobs, Paulina Alexis and Lane Factor.
Guest stars in the first series include Macon Blair, Matty Cardapole, Zahn McClaren, Kirk Fox, Tamara Podemsky, Dallas Goldtooth and Bobby Lee.

Announcing the show last year, Waititi said: “I’m very proud to be part of something that amplifies indigenous voices and especially proud to create this with my brother, Sterlin Harjo.”
Nick Grad, FX Original Programming President, added in a statement: “Sterlin Harjo draws in-depth attention to his experiences as a native Oklahoman to make Reservation Dogs a true and incredibly funny story of youth, courage and audacity. “
Elsewhere, Waititi recently teased the upcoming Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder, he called it the “craziest” film of all time.
“I’ve done some crazy things in my life,” he said. “I’ve lived like 10 lives. But this is the craziest movie I’ve ever done.”
