Daniel Bryan is about to set the world on fire once again, but it will be this time for AEW. He reportedly signed a deal with the company and yesterday that news exploded.
One of the things Daniel Bryan wanted was the ability to work in Japan. This was reportedly the reason WWE had been talking to NJPW in recent memory. Obviously, the deal isn’t done yet while AEW continues to see NJPW talent and titles on their shows.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that AEW’s deal with NJPW was a big factor in signing the company. Daniel Bryan said in the past that he wants to work for other companies outside the US.
“As far as Brian Danielson goes, I’m pretty sure that whatever decision – I mean there are a lot of factors that go into whatever decision he would make – it was New Japan, AEW and WWE. Granted. He has loyalty to WWE and Vince McMahon and has a lot of friends in WWE. In the end, the company that New Japan had a relationship with would be the favorite to get him.”
WWE President Nick Khan tried to make a deal with NJPW, but it seems that the deal is far from done. An NJPW title changed hands on the AEW show as Lance Archer defeated Jon Moxley for the IWGP United States Title. This reflects the close relationship between the two companies.
It looks like Daniel Bryan is heading to AEW. You can click here to know about the plans for AEW’s debut.
