A driver and a young woman were killed after they were hit by an MTA bus on the Upper East Side Thursday night, police said.
The victim, in his 20s, was first struck by an unknown dark-colored vehicle traveling north on 3rd Avenue near East 96th Street just after 6 p.m., police said.
The driver fled the scene and the woman was struck again, this time by an MTA bus, police said.
He was taken by EMS to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The bus remained at the scene, no other injuries were reported,” the police said. The hit-and-run driver remains at large.
