WWE always locks new names, but sometimes the purpose of that name is now known. The company has hit a trademark on the new name and it is not clear how they will use the new name.
Vince McMahon registered a trademark for Bodhi Hayward on November 10. As of this writing, we are not sure who is getting that new name.
Registration is done in the same way that most pro wrestling claims are filed. It is registered in the “Entertainment Services” section with the following specifications.
Entertainment services, namely, wrestling shows and performances by professional wrestlers and entertainers, including broadcast and broadcast media, including television and radio, and the Internet or commercial online service; Providing wrestling news and information through a global computer network; Providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through an online community portal; Providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; Fan club services, namely, organizing wrestling events for wrestling fan club members; Organizing social entertainment events for recreational purposes for wrestling fan club members; Providing online newsletters in the areas of sports entertainment; Online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.
For Bodhi Hayward, we roll our eyes. It may be the name for the upcoming NXT 2.0 Superstar, but WWE is known for submitting trademarks for any number of reasons. Given the specifics of this filing, it is safe to say that we are talking about a new superstar name.
