Xavi wants to bring the Premier League star to Barcelona “at all costs”

Xavi wants to bring Mohamed Salah to Camp Nou “at all costs” and is eager to build the next great Barcelona team around the Egyptian superstar.

The new Barca boss has already made big waves since his appointment by bringing back former teammate Danny Alves and helping to lift the cloud of darkness over the Catalonian giants.

President Joan LaPorta has been heavily criticized in recent months following Lionel Messi’s departure, but Salah hopes the acquisition of a player like him will restore some pride in his reputation.

The 29-year-old has been electric for the Reds this season, scoring 15 goals in 15 appearances in all competitions, including 7 of only 4 Champions League outings.

An article in the Catalan-based publication El Nacional describes how Barcelona can move for the “king of Egypt”.

His current contract at Anfield expires in June 2023 and the next summer transfer window will be the last to request a fee for Club Salah.

The former AS Roma and Chelsea man has previously expressed his love for Liverpool, but indicated that it was not his decision whether he should stay on Merseyside or not.

“If you ask me, I’d love to stay until the last day of my football career, but I can’t say much about it – it’s not in my hands,” he told Sky Sports in a quote published last month by the Mirror.

“I don’t see myself playing against Liverpool at the moment. It makes me sad. It’s hard. I don’t want to talk about it, but it makes me really sad.”

Salah’s focus is currently on Liverpool and their home clash with Arsenal after November 20.
