Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed the player who deserved to win the Ballon d’Or

Zlatan Ibrahimovic weighed in on the Ballon d’Or debate, naming a star player who deserves to win the prestigious individual title.

Paris Saint-Germain superstar defeated his Bayern Munich counterpart by 33 points.

However, the decision to give Messi his seventh Ballon d’Or title did not go unnoticed by fans and critics alike.

Not to mention Ibrahimovic, who Lewandowski considers worthy of the award this year.

The AC Milan forward, though, was asked to choose between Argentine Cristiano Ronaldo, who finished sixth in the Ballon d’Or ranking.

“I’d say Messi since we played together.”

Asked about his relationship with Messi, the Swedes replied: “A professional. Leo lives for football.

“But Lewandowski deserves a Ballon d’Or this year.”

Ibrahimovic is not the only current player who believes Messi is not eligible.

Real Madrid’s Tony Cruise says that Messi is “totally ineligible” to win the Ballon d’Or as he backed team-mate Karim Benzema, who finished fourth on the list.

He said: “It is not fully deserved.

“There is no doubt that Messi is with Cristiano [Ronaldo], Have been players of the last decade, but this year they had to be ahead of others.

“To me, if you were really looking for the best individual player last year, Kareem would be number one, because I look closely at what a great football player he is.”

Does Messi deserve the Ballon d’Or? Tell us.
